I think the operative phrase is '15-year-old eighth grader'

Fla. student suspended from bus for passing gas

LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) — An eighth-grader was suspended from riding the school bus for three days after being accused of passing gas. The bus driver wrote on a misbehavior form that a 15-year-old teen passing gas on the bus Monday to make the other children laugh, creating a stench so bad that it was difficult to breathe. The bus driver handed the teen the suspension form the next day.

Polk County school officials said there's no rule against flatulence, but there are rules against causing a disturbance on the bus.

The teen said he wasn't the one passing gas.

Whether he did it or not, he might have gotten off easy. A 13-year-old student at a Stuart school was arrested in November after authorities said he broke wind in class.

You know, I'm not interested in encouraging flatulence, particularly not in my presence, but I will defend to the death someone's right to pass gas, even on the bus.

Goodness.....when I was in junior high we were worrying about the kids who were bringing guns to school & threats of gang fights...if passing gas is one of he biggest, most disruptive problems they have there, they should consider themselves lucky! Man, the news is WEIRD.

Man, back in third grade (Hey HEY! I can hear you all groaing out there!)...
Back in third grade I had this kid who sat next to me. Man... for the life of me... I'm thinking his name was Ed somethingorother. Hellofitall is that his last name sort of makes this comment!
Well, Ed was one hellofa fartin fellow. I mean Goshawmighty... or as I recently learned... G-Mon-Tee! That boy could let-er go now! I'm not talking noise... No no... his forte was pure essence of the Tet Offensive level.

I'd be like, "Ed! Oh man! Come onnnn!!!! COME ONNNNN!!!!!"

Kids would beat Ed up. I felt poorly for him sometimes.

I'd try to tell him (in third grade now!) maybe he should switch out his eatting habit or something. Anything. He would whine about nothing helping...

Then he'd let the frig loose again! Right in the midst of conversation!

"Ed!" I'd say. "Oh man!!!"

I guess I really don't have a point here. I wonder if Ed goes into many elevators these days. I wonder if he survived his school years.

Ed was a farting character in my life. He had blazing red hair and freckles to boot in the true Ginger fashion.

Sometimes I gotta wonder what was going on with his underwear with all that activity.
